Hindustani Music

Dr. Mukul S. Goel learned Hindustani Music under the personal guidance of a renowned guru (Jaipur Gharana). He obtained a Sangit Prabhakar (Bachelor’s degree in music) concurrently with his schooling in India. Later, for his college education in engineering, he moved to New Jersey (USA). During these years as an undergraduate at NJIT, he enjoyed teaching Indian Percussion to students of all ages. Mukul completed a PhD and postdoctoral research in Chemical and Biomolecular Engg at the Univ. of Pennsylvania, where his work focused on areas relevant to cardiovascular disease.

Mukul's ever-growing interest in the arts and philosophy has turned him from an active scientist to a writer. He currently lives in India and is engaged in the independent study of Indian spirituality. Other activities of his interest include playing Tabla, nurturing young talent, and exploring Vedic astrology.
